Frequently Asked Questions
How many channels do I need for my trunk?
You choose the number of channels based on your expected concurrent call volume — 5 channels is the minimum, and you can scale up to as many as you need. You’re only billed based on your selection.
Do I need to register my SIP device, or can I connect without registration?
Both are supported. If you have a static public IP, you can use IP Whitelisting (Direct-IP) to send calls without SIP registration credentials. See our IP Whitelisting setup guide for the steps.
How do I point an incoming number to my trunk?
From Inbound → Local Numbers, use the Call Forward option on the number, select Direct-IP as the destination, and enter your trunk’s WAN IP. See our step-by-step guide.
Can multiple accounts share the same IP address?
Yes — if multiple customers send calls from the same IP, a Prefix or X-Header must be added to each whitelist entry so PBXme can identify which account each call belongs to.
Can I test compatibility before committing?
Yes. Use our free Test Service to confirm your IPBX is compatible before signing up.
Ready to Connect Your Trunk?
Sign up, choose your channels, and connect using either Direct-IP whitelisting or SIP registration.
