| *80 | Follow Me Activate | Enable Follow Me dynamic forwarding. Calls to your extension are routed according to your configured Follow Me destination list — useful for finding you across multiple devices. |
| *81 | Follow Me Deactivate | Disable Follow Me. Calls return to ringing your primary extension directly. |
| *82 | Follow Me Toggle | Switch Follow Me on or off using your last configured Follow Me settings. |
| Call Waiting | ||
| *83 | Call Waiting Activate | Enable call waiting. When you are on a call, a second inbound call will signal audibly so you can choose to answer, hold, or ignore it. |
| *84 | Call Waiting Deactivate | Disable call waiting. Second callers will receive a busy signal while you are on a call. |
| *85 | Call Waiting Toggle | Switch call waiting on or off. |
| Do Not Disturb (DND) | ||
| *86 | DND Enable | Enable Do Not Disturb. All incoming calls are blocked from ringing your extension and are redirected to voicemail or returned as busy, depending on your configuration. |
| *87 | DND Disable | Disable Do Not Disturb. Your extension returns to normal call handling. |
| *88 | DND Toggle | Switch Do Not Disturb on or off. |
| Call Forwarding — Not Registered | ||
| *89 | Forward Not Registered Activate | Forward calls to a specified destination when your SIP extension is not registered — for example when your device is offline or disconnected. |
| *90 | Forward Not Registered Deactivate | Disable not-registered call forwarding. |
| *91 | Forward Not Registered Toggle | Switch not-registered forwarding on or off using the last configured destination. |
| Call Recording | ||
| *92 | Toggle Recording | Start recording if the current call is not being recorded, or stop recording if it is. The most common code for on-demand per-call recording control. |
| *93 | Recording Activate | Begin recording the current active call. Use when you want to start recording without risking stopping an existing recording. |
| *101 | Recording Deactivate | Stop recording the current active call. Use when handling sensitive information such as payment card details that should not be recorded. |
| Call Transfer | ||
| *2 | Blind Transfer | Transfer the active call to another extension or number immediately, without speaking to the destination first. The caller is connected to the destination as soon as the transfer is dialled. |
| *3 | Attended Transfer | Put the caller on hold, dial the destination, speak to them first to announce the caller, then complete the transfer. The caller only connects once you hang up. |
| Voicemail | ||
| *96 | Any Extension Voicemail | Access the voicemail inbox of any extension. Dial *96 followed by the target extension number. You will be prompted for that mailbox’s PIN. |
| *97 | Own Voicemail | Access your own voicemail inbox directly. No extension number needed — accesses the mailbox of the extension you are calling from. |
| Extension Intercept & Call Pickup | ||
| *98 | Extension Intercept | Listen in on a live call running on another extension. Dial *98 followed by the target extension number. Requires appropriate permissions configured on your account. |
| *99 | Call Pickup — Same Group | Answer a call that is ringing on another extension within your configured pickup group. You do not need to know which specific extension is ringing. |
| *100 | General Call Pickup | Answer any ringing call on the system, regardless of pickup group membership. Picks up the call that has been ringing the longest. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all feature codes free on PBXme?
Yes. All feature codes are available at no extra cost on every PBXme account. There are no add-ons or per-code charges. Call recording itself is charged at $0.01/min, but the recording feature codes (*92, *93, *101) to control it are free.
What is the difference between Activate, Deactivate, and Toggle codes?
Activate codes turn a feature on unconditionally. Deactivate codes turn it off unconditionally. Toggle codes flip the current state — on if it was off, off if it was on. Toggle is convenient for quick switching; Activate/Deactivate are safer when you need to be certain of the outcome.
Do feature codes work from any SIP device?
Yes. Feature codes work from any SIP device or softphone registered to your PBXme account — desk phones, mobile SIP apps (such as Zoiper or Linphone), and PC softphones alike.
What is the difference between blind and attended call transfer?
Blind transfer (*2) connects the caller to the destination immediately — you do not speak to the destination first. Attended transfer (*3) puts the caller on hold, lets you speak to the destination to announce the call, and only completes the transfer when you hang up.
How do I pick up a call ringing on another extension?
Dial *99 to pick up any ringing call within your configured pickup group. Dial *100 for a general pickup of any ringing call on the system. You do not need to know which extension is ringing for either code.
How do I stop recording when handling payment card details?
Dial *101 to deactivate recording for the current call. When the sensitive portion of the conversation is over, dial *93 to resume recording. Alternatively, use *92 to toggle recording on and off.
